Preparing for Adulthood Transitions Roadshow 15/06/22
Date posted: 11th May 2022

Preparing for Adulthood Transitions Roadshow, 15th June 2022, 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Legends Lounge, Swindon Town Football Club.

The Transitions Roadshow is back as a face to face event for 2022, this year at Swindon Town Football Club. The Roadshow is for parents, carers and professionals who support young people age 14+ with additional needs as they prepare for adult life.

Please come along, and please share this information with parents and carers who might be interested

The term 'Transition' relates to young people with additional needs who may need extra and sometimes specialist support to help them to prepare for adulthood. Moving away from services for children and young people and into Adult Social Care and Adult Health Services, and from school into college or work, can often be daunting for all those involved. However, there are many services in Swindon which support young people and those who care for them and support them throughout this transition, and many of these will be on-hand at the Roadshow to offer information and advice.

We have 40 stallholders signed up for the 2022 Roadshow from education, employment and training, health, independent living, friends, relationships and community involvement, and many others. A full list of stallholders will be published on the Swindon Local Offer before the Roadshow.

Parents, carers and professionals attending a previous Transitions Roadshow said:

"I thought the Roadshow was excellent and had a real buzz about it. Good to see so many people talking to one another. There is so much more going on in Swindon than people realise"

"I went to the Transitions Roadshow. I saw most, although not all, stalls and I found it very informative. The stallholders I spoke to were very happy to discuss their organisations/services and were all friendly. I think it’s a great idea and valuable support for residents"

Lots more information about the Roadshow is on the Swindon Local Offer at Preparing for Adulthood Transitions Roadshow.
